The Book of Days…part lxviii
The Book of Days
The dawn’s early light can be pleasure enough for the whole day.
There are words enough to tell the story of “the temptation of day to come.”
It is my delight to write some of them for your delectation.
Silence
In slow moments of leisure,
admiring its reflection
in the dappled, quiet stream,
the rising sun reviews new tints
for the canvas of the morning.
Night has stolen the bright colors
of the sleeping trees,
leaving black shadows
yearning for dawn.
The sun mixes its palette of vibrant greens,
and wakens the sleepers.
The timid clouds
that blush in day’s first light
enrobe themselves in prudent white.
